Lexus has been pursuing perfection for 16 years now, and the success of the chase has been evident every step of the way. Duly noted in even the first wave of cars were qualities like "the best ride outside of clouds," interior designs of overpowering beauty, and sound systems so invigorating that "afterwards, you feel like smoking a cigarette."
The first Lexus GS of 1993 lived up to such promises. The second-generation of 1998 did more, expanding ambitions to include being a style and performance leader as well. A full eight years have passed since the last landing of Lexus's second-in-command sedan, and for a car company that never sleeps, you have to wonder how much extra perfection they snuck into the recipe during the interim.
