Volvo XC90, and slightly bigger
Audi Q7. There's also the Mercedes ML350,
BMW X5 3.0si,
Infiniti FX35,
Cadillac SRX V6, and maybe the
Land Rover LR3. Just to make some quick distinctions, only the Mercedes and BMW force purchase of all-wheel-drive as Acura does. Only Volvo, Cadillac, and Land Rover match Acura's seven seats. Lastly, all but Lexus and Lincoln pack a step-up V8 model for the truly power hungry, although - here's the biggie - Acura's 300 horsepower virtually matches all of them (except BMW's), without following their collective jump into the $50,000 range. Viewed that way, the MDX is still a bargain after all, and it's still the only other entry besides the Lexus and Infiniti that's proven to hold up reliably over time.
