2009 Bentley Arnage

If you couldn't decide whether you wanted a T, R. or Brooklands, the Bentley Arnage Final Series is for you. The limited-edition 2009 Final series will feature the Arnage T's drivetrain, the Arnage R's luxury appointments, and the Brooklands' styling cues. The last 150 Bentley Arnages built will be Final Series cars that will pay homage to the Arnage's 10 year run, the 6.75L engine's 50th anniversary and Bentley's 90 years of operation.

The Arnage Final Series will be based on the Arnage T and share its twin-turbo 6.75L V-8 engine. The 500 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque will be enough to move the 5699 lb car to 60 mph in 5.2 sec and reach a top speed of 179 mph. Power reaches the pavement through a ZF-sourced six-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting capabilities. Keeping the power down will be 20-in. wheels borrowed from the Brooklands riding on Pirelli PZero tires and featuring a tire-pressure-monitoring system. Smoothing out the bumps is the 2009 Bentley Arnage's recently redesigned double-wishbone suspension with electro-hydraulic shocks and an Electronic Stability Program. As an option, the Arnage Final Series will be fitted with enormous 16.5-in. carbon/silicon carbide brake rotors and eight-piston calipers.

You read that right. Final. Lest Bentley pull a trick akin to an Eagles "farewell" tour, the 2009 Bentley Arnage Final Series will celebrate the end for the stately Arnage.

Culminating with the 50th anniversary of Bentley's first V-8, the Arnage Final Series makes do with a twin-turbocharged 6.8-liter V-8 borrowed from the T. Bentley rates the force-fed monster at 500 hp at 4200 rpm, and 738 lb-ft of torque at 3200 rpm. A six-speed automatic transmission, sourced from ZF, channels that power to the 2009 Arnage's rear wheels, allowing it to reach 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 179 mph.

Though the mechanicals are all about power, the Final Series' appearance emphasizes luxury. Most visible changes, both inside and out, are cosmetic, helping to emphasize the Bentley Arnage's lineage while enhancing its (already opulent) creature comforts.
