In the world of compacts, the Toyota Corolla, a presence in the U.S. since 1968, is automotive royalty.

No Corolla without an AE86 chassis code has been a hit with the Super Street crowd, and this new NG chassis car likely won't win over any of the SS faithful. The '09 Corolla is a good car, and for those that only expect to get from Point A to Point B reliably, this car will suit their needs just fine.

Younger and older buyers alike appreciate low purchase and operating costs, and previously Toyota Corollas have proven reliable and not an expensive insurance proposition. First-time drivers will do well with straightforward controls, minimal distractions, and standard passive safety equipment, and many older drivers will appreciate the same things for different reasons

With such a large audience, the 2009 Toyota Corolla skips the fringes and focuses on a pleasant interior designed more to offend no one than to excite just a few.
