The Torrent shares its basic structure with the Chevy Equinox. Torrent is built on a front-wheel-drive platform, but all-wheel drive is available for winter weather. The standard engine is a 185-horsepower V6, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. We found the Torrent delivers quick acceleration and its styling is restrained, clean and pleasing.
