The Acura RDX model also gets a new-for-2010 two-wheel drive version that will be available this fall. Up until this model year, the stylish little soft-roader has only been offered with the brand's Super Handling all-wheel drive system (SH-AWD). The new variant will start at $33,330 including destination, making it the least expensive model in the Acura RDX stable.

Minus having to drive the front two wheels, the result is an EPA fuel economy bump to 19 mpg city/24 mpg highway (versus 17/24 for the SH-AWD).

Prices for the 2010 Acura RDX AWD versions start at $35,330 (including destination and handling). The 2009 Acura RDX is eligible for the government's Cash for Clunkers program, known as CARS.

Check out the latest info for the 2010 Acura RDX crossover SUV. The RDX is powered by a standard 240-horsepower 2.3-liter Turbocharged, 16-valve, DOHC i-VTEC inline 4-cylinder engine with a Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission.

For 2010, the Acura RDX will also come with a 2WD configuration powering the front wheels. Dropping the rest of the SH-AWD drivetrain saves 200 lbs. and improves fuel economy by 2 mpg city and highway, to a tune of 19 mpg city and 24 mpg highway. Power still goes to the ground via Acura's SportShift five-speed automatic gearbox with manual paddles, and that power comes from the same 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The only work under the hood involved a thicker intake pipe and a new, dual-stage radiator fan designed to reduce engine noise. Power numbers remain the same for the 2010 Acura RDX's turbo four, sitting at a healthy 240 hp and 260 lb-ft.

Indeed, most of the new 2010 RDX's updates come in the form of driver-friendly gizmos and creature comforts. Chief among them is the new USB connection that allows iPod, iPhone, and other MP3 player integration to the standard 310-watt, seven-speaker sound system. Check the box next to the Technology Package and you'll pick up a 10-speaker, 410-watt stereo as well as an updated navigation system with a new, higher-quality, 8-inch screen. The nav system also picks up real-time weather with radar maps, increased word-recognition for the text-to-speech system, and a back-up camera. Those not inclined to choose the full Technology Package will still get the back-up camera standard, but the display will be mounted in the auto-dimming rearview mirror instead.
