Both the 2010 Ford Escape and Escape Hybrid will be packed with five more technologies aimed at minimizing driver distraction and keeping passengers safer in all situations. The safest small crossover SUV in its segment just got a little safer.
For the parking challenged, Ford's Active Park Assist uses ultrasound to better position the car in a parallel parking situation. Along with the rear view camera, the systems are said to make even the most difficult parking jobs a worry of the past. The 2010 Escape is one of the first vehicles in the Ford lineup to have SYNC with all traffic, direction and information capabilities on board.
To date, the Ford Escape has earned the federal government's top safety rating, as well as a "Top Safety Pick" designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In addition to the newly added technologies, it'll come standard with AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control and a Safety Canopy side impact protection system when it hits showrooms this summer.
