Acura's flagship luxury sedan, the RL, has been updated for 2009. The new look RL is 2.2 inches longer overall, has redesigned taillights and displays Acura's new corporate shield grille theme.
The 3.5-liter V6 of the previous RL has been swapped out for a 3.7-liter V6, generating 300 horsepower. A 5-speed automatic transmission routes power to Acura's Super-Handling All Wheel Drive.
Fuel economy for the RL is as follows...
Changes to the interior are minor and include new shifter design and new front bucket seats. The Navigation system with real-time traffic updates is included in the available tech package and coupled with the center stack control knob, is a lesson in ergonomics.
Base MSRP for the 2009 Acura RL is $46,680. A fully loaded model will cost around $54,000. The RL is backed by a 6-year, 70,000-mile powertrain warranty.
Updated looks, combined with a long list of carried-over standard features, make the 2009 Acura RL a strong contender among flagship luxury sedans.
