There may be no better example of a model that defines a brand than Acura's 2008 TL performance sedan. Sporty design, performance engineering and a well-appointed interior are at the heart of the the TL sedan.
While every TL model is essentially a lesson in how to build a premium performance sedan, the TL Type-S is a breed apart. Set off by 17 inch alloy wheels, rear deck lid spoiler and "Type-S" badging, this TL has the hallmarks of an import-tuner.
While the standard engine is a 258 horsepower 3.2 liter V-6, the Type-S gets its gusto from a 286 horsepower 3.5 liter V-6. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard on all TL models, while the Type-S has the option of a 6-speed manual gearbox. Mileage estimates are 18 miles per gallon city, and 26 miles per gallon highway. Opting for manual on the type S gains an extra mile per gallon on the highway.
Base MSRP for the 2008 Acura TL is $33,725, while the Type-S starts at $38,225.
The 2008 Acura TL mixes performance and luxury in a premium sedan that is the hallmark of the Acura badge.
