2011 Acura TSX Review

Acura gives Europe some competition

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 Acura TSX is a highly desirable luxury sedan that now has a wagon variant. Equipped with a 201-horsepower 2.4-liter I-4 engine, with an optional 280 horsepower 3.5-liter V-6, Acura now competes with Germans such as Audi and BMW. Both five-speed automatic and six-speed manual are available.

Loaded with standard features and options, the Acura TSX is a high-technology favorite in the car market. Its bold front end actually works on this car and gives it a European look. Standard safety features also about, and its fuel economy rating is in the 20 mpg city/28 mpg hwy range. Known for its superb maneuverability, the 2011 Acura TSX is lighter than more cars in its class and as a result it receives high marks for driving dynamics.

Comments:

Why is the wagon the default car? Is that the cheapest? Surely it's not the most common. I personally don't mind wagons but many people think they are awkward and uncool. The TSX is overstyled in my opinion. My neighbor just bought one, and while it's nice inside, I'd go do for a VW Passat which is much more understated.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pros

  • Smooth Ride
  • Attractive Design
  • Lots of Features
  • Comfortable
  • Handles Well
  • Great Gas Mileage

Cons

  • Small Trunk Space
Comments:

The new Acura TSX remains stylish, sporty, and a great deal. As an entry level luxury car, the Acura TSX has all of the bells and whistles you would expect to find in a larger, more expensive luxury car. Ranging from a fuel efficient engine, with moonroof, automatic heated seats, and enough room for five full size adults. As always Acura provides a sharp looking car with excellent gas mileage that handles well and provides a comfortable ride in any weather. The 2011 Acura TSX is available in a variety of exterior colors and interior trims, manual or automatic transmission, as well as upgrades to the wheels and engine size. Additional upgrades include GPS, premium audio system, and sport package. The only negative I have to say for this car is the small trunk space, but that is to be expected given the overall size of the car. This is a must buy for anyone looking to enter the luxury car market who doesn't want to spend a lot, but wants to get a lot.
