The
2012 Acura ZDX is the classic example of filling a niche nobody knew about. How many people out there are looking for an SUV but with sleek coupe styling? The same people looking to BMW for its X6, presumably. If a wagon is such an abhorrent idea that a compromised, pseudo-SUV coupe is the right call, then the handsome Acura ZDX is the perfect car for fashionistas.
The Acura ZDX may be based on the eight-passenger Acura MDX, but without the cargo and passenger space -- the rear seat can fit 3, but only those of short stature. Reliable MDX underpinnings, however, make up the Acura ZDX's 300-horsepower V-6, six-speed automatic and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, a high-tech Acura staple.
The Acura ZDX's sharp wheel flares and clean, uncluttered lines give it plenty of style, which continues onto the leather-trimmed interior. Available in a variety of colors including an eye-searing burnt orange, the 2012 Acura ZDX interior also features a 10-speaker surround-sound system, AcuraLink real-time traffic and weather updates, a 15GB hard drive for music, restaurant reviews, voice activation, and Bluetooth. On the safety front, stability control, six airbags, and the available Collision Mitigation Braking System help to keep driver and passengers safe.

What's New
The 2012 Acura ZDX is Acura's first segment-breaking experiment: a crossover SUV coupe. Conceived by Acura's first female designer, the sharp Acura ZDX flaunts sweeping curves and dramatic angularity, in addition to an all-glass panoramic roof that Acura says is the longest continuous glass surface in the automotive industry.
Exterior
Deeply drawn body panels, bold wheel arches, and concealed door handles give the2012 Acura ZDX a clean, uncluttered appearance all around. The chiseled grille even works well here, helping the Acura ZDX become one of the brand's boldest statements to date.
Interior
Rather unsurprisingly, the coupe-like sloping roofline drastically cuts down on cargo room. Rear passengers will find themselves pressed for headroom, squeezing against the full-length panoramic roof. But as Acura's most stylish vehicle, the Acura ZDX pulls out all the stops: the swooping dashboard and available Umber trim keeps things interesting, and the technological features are what one would expect in a luxury automobile.
Performance & Handling
The 2012 Acura ZDX's 300 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque are sent to the ground via Acura's Super Handling all-wheel drive system, which helps this deceptively long vehicle handle with surprising aplomb. A tight chassis and a six-speed automatic transmission help belie the ZDX's seven-passenger MDX roots.
Safety
The Acura ZDX comes standard with the following: Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, dual-stage multiple-threshold front air bags, four-wheel anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control.
