Audi's compact entry-level A3 hatchback has been updated for 2009. In addition to a freshened exterior, the cabin now gets standard leather seating.
The base engine is a 200 horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4. A 250 horsepower 3.2-liter V6 is also available. Power is sent to the rear wheels or available Quattro all wheel drive through either a 6-speed manual or an available 6-speed direct shift gearbox.
Fuel economy for the A3 ranges from 18 miles per gallon city, up to 30 miles per gallon highway.
While the smallest and most affordable Audi, the base A3 still comes standard with leather seating for five, dual zone climate control, power windows, a rear seat pass-through and available power sunroof.
Base MSRP for the 2009 Audi A3 is $26,920. A fully loaded S-Line V6 model will top out at just under $44,000. The A3 is backed by a 4-year, 50,000-mile powertrain warranty.
With updated looks, new standard features, and Audi's performance oriented nature, the 2009 A3 brings a whole lotta' car to the table for a compact hatchback.
