2011 Audi A3 Review

A good way to get into an Audi

Reviewed by Automotive on

In a Nutshell
The 2011 Audi A3 is a five-door hatchback that is affordable, yet sophisticated -- stylish, but still practical. Equipped as either a turbocharged four-cylinder gas motor or a diesel engine, the A3 offers three selections for transmission: a six-speed automatic, six-speed auto-clutch manual, or a six-speed manual. The A3 offers front wheel drive or Audi's quattro all-wheel drive.

While modest in its interior, the Audi A3's wagon utility is underscored by its boxy, square profile. Modest also are its standard safety features, however, the diesel does get a stunning 40 mpg, while the gas engine's EPA ratings are in the 22 city/28 mpg highway range. If you can't afford a higher end Audi, the 2011 A3 is a good starting point.

Comments:

If you're looking for a somewhat sporty, somewhat classy, and somewhat family-like car, the 2011 Audi A3 may be perfect for you. The outside has a half-wagon, half-hatchback look to it while not losing much of the aggressively powerful and sporty looks that are sure to turn heads. The sleek outward appearance is matched by one of the most impressive interiors in its category. The interior of the Audi A3 could have come right out of a James Bond movie (that is if James Bond had two kids who needed a backseat). Its sleek and comfy, and sports one of the most impressive looking and feeling interiors in the automobile industry today with such features as heated seats and incredible speakers. The Audi A3 is also a car that can be trusted to be easy to handle even in the most inclement weather conditions. Even though the car has plenty of pick-up with the 2.0 L engine, it still gets excellent gas mileage for a car of its size and speed, especially if you get the diesel engine version which can get 35 or more miles per gallon. Price-wise, the Audi A3 is in the mid to high twenties; although this is a great car, with both a good-looking exterior and a sporty, comfortable interior, this price is somewhat higher than you should pay for a car in this class. Overall, though, the 2011 Audi A3 is a car that consumers might want to invest in because it will be a joyous, comfortable, and exciting ride.
