What's New

The 1997 Audi A6 offers a new value package with a power glass sunroof and larger alloy wheels and tires. Remote keyless entry and a new alarm system, which include interior monitoring, are now available. Three new exterior colors are also available for this model year.

The 1997 Audi A6 provides standard tinted glass, 15-inch alloy wheels, power heated mirrors, and a rear ski bag. The wagon models also come with a standard roof rack. Available options for all models include metallic paint, headlight cleaners, and a power moonroof.

Standard features on the 1997 Audi A6 include bucket seats, cloth upholstery, power driver’s seat, leather tilt steering wheel, air-conditioning, automatic climate control, power windows, and an AM/FM/Cassette audio system. The sedan models also come with a center console. Available options for all models include heated front seats, a Bose audio system, leather upholstery, power front passenger seat, and power driver’s seat with memory.

Performance & Handling

The 1997 Audi A6 offers a 2.8-liter, six-cylinder engine, which is considered a bit of a disappointment compared to other Audi offerings. It weighs in at 3847 pounds, and this engine just isn't enough to provide the get-up-and-go that most Audi drivers expect. However, the steering is crisp and the brakes are excellent. Cruise control and power steering are standard for all models. The wagon models also come with traction control. The Quattro sedan also comes with a locking differential.

The 1997 Audi A6 comes with standard four-wheel anti-lock brakes, driver and passenger front airbags, and an anti-theft alarm system. Other standard safety features include fog lights, power brakes, a rear window defroster, intermittent windshield wipers, remote trunk release, and power door locks. The wagon models also come with a rear window wiper as standard equipment. A keyless entry system is an available option for all models.
