The 2003 Audi S6 is an ideal machine for cruising, for ferrying family and cargo, and for ferrying equipment when work calls for it. It will revive the feeling of a mad adrenaline rush when stepping on the accelerator on the freeway. The wagon body style camouflages the performance it can give off with its 4.2-liter engine. Its all-wheel-drive transmission gives it advantage against the competition, especially in unpredictable road conditions such as snow.

The 2003 Audi S6 is promotes as a family vehicle as it comes with child-safety seat anchors in two positions in the rear seat. The engine also gets an upgrade to a 4.2-liter V-8 that spews 340-hp horsepower. Working with that powerful engine is the permanent all-wheel-drive Audi technology and five-speed-automatic transmission, which make this a machine designed to perform. In Audi’s special way of putting luxury into a vehicle without being showy, it has luxurious interior fittings comparable to other vehicles in its class. To improve the stability over that of its predecessor, it has a 20mm lower ground clearance.


At first glance, the 2003 Audi S6 is immediately a member of the Audi family. It has the same signature front grille with the four circles emblem that's popular with Audi models. It has high-intensity discharge xenon headlights, fog lights, and self-leveling headlamps as standard fittings and runs on six-spoke 17-inch cast-alloy wheels with 255/40R Z performance tires. It comes with variable intermittent wipers and the rear window has defogger and a rear wiper. To complete the image of family wagon and sports car, it comes with a roof rack and a power glass sunroof. The exterior dimensions are 76.1 inches wide, 57 inches tall, 193.4 inches long, and the 36.4 cubic feet cargo capacity can expand to 73.2 cubic feet maximum cargo capacity. It rises to 4.8 inches ground clearance and stands on a 108.6-inch wheelbase.


The 2003 Audi S6 has wood trim on the center console, dashboard, and doors, and has more wood trim with leather on the shift knob giving it a luxurious interior. The driver gets an electro-chromatic inside rearview mirror, both the driver and front passenger get an illuminating vanity mirror each and has reading lights in the front. The dashboard has a clock, a trip computer, and an AM/FM radio with a six CD-changer, and the sound system has eight speakers of a 200-watt stereo output and a subwoofer. The seats have memorized settings for three drivers that also include the steering wheel position. The 12-way power and heated passenger and driver seats come with height-adjustable headrests that protect occupants from whiplash in an impact. The rear seat has a split-folding seatback and a folding pass-thru center armrest with storage, while the power features include door locks, heated mirrors, and windows. It comes with ample storage space, a front console, door pockets on the front and rear doors, and cup holders in the front and rear. As with most family cars, it comes with a first aid kit, child anchors in the rear seats, and child-safety locks on the rear doors.

Performance & Handling

The 2003 Audi S6 is an all-wheel-drive transmission, five-speed shift-automatic with center limited slip differential. The base engine is a 4.2-liter V-8 that generates 340 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque with 40 valves, double overhead cam (DOHC), and variable valve timing (VVT). The stability and suspension system contains Multi-link front suspension, Multi-link rear suspension, and four-wheel independent suspension. The technology to enhance safe stops includes four-wheel anti-lock brake systems (ABS), ventilated disc brakes in the front and rear. It comes with stability and traction control systems, electronic brake-force distribution, and an emergency braking assist system.


The 2003 Audi S6 has front and rear head airbags and dual front side-mounted airbags that protect the vehicle occupants from side impact. The seats in the front and in the rear have height-adjustable headrests that protect occupants from whiplash. The passenger and driver safety fittings include a remote anti-theft alarm system as a standard fitting from factory and an engine immobilizer. To ensure safer driving, it has fog lights, high-intensity discharge xenon headlamps, and self-leveling headlamps.
