SAN FRANCISCO, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Esurance, the direct-to-consumer personal auto insurance company, announced its latest environmental initiative. In Washington State, Esurance will make this weekend's Sasquatch! Music Festival carbon neutral. The festival will take place from May 26-27 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. For the festival, Esurance is working with festival organizers and Sustainable Energy Partners to make the event certified carbon neutral for the first time in its history.
John Swigart, Esurance's Chief Marketing Officer, stated, "The Gorge is always cited as one of the most beautiful outdoor venues in America. It's important to protect that beauty everywhere by making the event and others like it carbon neutral. We couldn't be happier that our sponsorship dollars have contributed to something with such long-lasting benefits."
Sustainable Energy Partners has determined the emissions impact of Sasquatch, and Esurance will fund energy efficient projects to offset this amount. The auto insurer is no stranger to offsets, and has worked with another organization, The Carbon Fund, to neutralize the electricity use in its office locations across the U.S. Esurance also engages in other environmentally friendly business practices, with hybrid claims vehicles, a virtually paperless customer experience, and partnerships with environmentally focused non-profits.
Concluded Swigart, "Esurance is committed to the well-being of our customers, our employees, and our communities. Protecting the environment has a direct impact on us all. We hope that carbon neutral events eventually become the norm, and we are very proud to play a part in this one."
