LIVONIA, Mich., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul Merklinger, President & CEO, will welcome Bobby Kennedy Jr. to the national launch of the Michigan based Encore Tire Recovery, a unique environmental solution to an age old problem: scrap tires. According to Merklinger, "Scrap tires are the second worst environmental problem in the USA, if not the world. A scrap tire is not biodegradable. If not properly dealt with, the scrap tire will haunt us forever." He made a conscious decision to do something about the problem five years ago. He worked to develop the Encore solution. Thursday, June 21, 2007 Merklinger will unveil the "T2" recovery vehicle at the corporate offices located at 12822 Stark Road in Livonia, MI. There will be a press conference at 1:00 p.m. followed by a keynote address by Robert Kennedy Jr. at 2:00 p.m.
Mr. Kennedy's reputation as a resolute defender of the environment earned him acclaim in the first ever "Green Issue" of Vanity Fair. He was named one of Time magazine's "Heroes for the Planet" for his success in helping to restore the Hudson River. He has worked on environmental issues across America. Kennedy is a graduate of Harvard University. He studied at the London School of Economics and received his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School. Following graduation Kennedy attended Pace University School of Law, where he was awarded a master's degree in environmental law. The Encore Team is honored to welcome him as the keynote speaker as they begin their task of cleaning up scrap tire piles across America. As a role model, the energy Bobby Kennedy Jr. brings to the environmental movement is inspirational.
