BOSTON, Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2007 New England International Auto Show, only the second public show hosted by the new Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, is set to open on Wednesday, November 28, at 10:00 AM featuring more than 800 new vehicles from 42 marques.
The show, presented by Amica Insurance and The Boston Globe, runs through Sunday, December 2 and provides the perfect venue for the potential car buyer to see all the 2008 models under one roof, with questions answered by factory personnel. And with the variety of fuel-saving features now available with a multitude of power plants make this event more important than ever.
"The New England International Auto show comes at a perfect time for the consumer who is looking to replace their current vehicle - two weeks after the insurance institute has released improved crash test ratings; and during a period when our Massachusetts dealers have the answer to high fuel prices with the widest variety of vehicles powered by the most number of different power plants in automotive history. Cars, trucks, vans, crossovers, hybrids, electrics - and countless variations of such - will be on display in the best facility we have ever had for our show," said show producer Barbara Pudney.
Ms. Pudney also pointed out that, with the increased space available at the Boston Convention Center, car manufacturers are able to bring bigger displays and feature additional models.
"In addition to the car displays, there will be features to entertain the entire family, including the Kid Stop Pit Stop, registration to win a 2008 Dodge Caravan, courtesy of the New England Dodge Dealers, autograph sessions with world rally driver Alex Roy, NASCAR Rookie of the Year David Ragan, and former Red Sox ace Dennis 'Oil Can' Boyd, plus a motorcycle stunt show, a Harley give-away, and Ultimate Garage contest, and a chance to go to a NASCAR driving school. It really is a family show," said Ms. Pudney.
Some of the new 2008 models which will make their New England debut at the show include the Audi A-5, the company's first four-seat coupe since 1991; the 600 hp, $182,000 Bentley ContinentalGT; the new BMW 3 series and plus the new lower-price BMW 1 series sedans; revamped Cadillac CTS with more power and better handling - named Motor Trend magazine's Car of the Year just last week; the new Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid; a bigger and boxier design for the Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Caravan; significant redesign of the Ford Focus; hybrid version of both the GMC Acadia and Yukon; new interior design for the Hummer H2; the latest Infiniti crossover vehicle - the EX-35; new 4.7-liter Grand Che{{{Cherokee Diesel; Lexus IS-F 5.0 liter V-8 and new 600h L Hybrid; New upgrade Mazda CX-9 with blind-spot monitoring feature; Mini Clubman with more cargo and passenger room than standard Cooper; the new re-designed Mitsubishi Lancer; Nissan Murano SUV is completely new and will be shown as a 2009 model; Pontiac shows upgraded standard option packages on G5, G6, G8, and Solstice models; Saturn has new Astra (replaces Ion); redesigned Scion xB; Suzuki SX4 sedan upgraded for '08; new platform Toyota Land Cruiser; C-30 sporty hatchback new from Volvo.
