DETROIT, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Detroit's new wintertime signature festival -- Detroit's Winter Blast" -- gets a major boost with "Beach Party At The Blast" setting the scene for a grand prize giveaway of a 25-person private hospitality tent for the 100th running of the 2008 ChryslerJeep Superstores APBA Gold Cup races on the Detroit River this summer.

The "Miss ChryslerJeep," an Unlimited hydroplane racing boat that will contend for the 100th running for the Gold Cup on the Detroit River July 11- 13, will be on display for an exciting preview of summertime fun as the Detroit River turns into the "Super Bowl" of powerboat racing. The Gold Cup is the oldest motor sports trophy in the world.

The announcement was made by ChryslerJeep Superstores Advertising Association president Jim Schebil.

The "Miss ChryslerJeep" unlimited hydroplane racer will be part of the overall fun and features in the Chrysler Jeep Dodge Taste of Detroit tent that includes 20 Detroit restaurants, an entertainment stage, the Gold Cup display and vehicle displays. The warming tent -- one of the largest in Detroit's Winter Blast -- is sponsored by Chrysler Jeep Superstores Advertising Association, Motor City Dodge Dealers and the Chrysler Foundation.

Winter Blast revelers ages 18 and over can enter to win the Grand Prize private Gold Cup races hospitality tent and other prizes at the Winter Blast event. The winning entry will be drawn at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10th from all entries collected during the weekend and will be notified by U.S. mail. Fifteen other entries will be drawn to receive free sets of Gold Cup Prize Packs, which include two tickets and a parking pass for the Gold Cup race.

The ChryslerJeep Superstores Gold Cup race weekend features unlimited hydroplane boats with 3,000 horsepower engines hitting 200 miles-per-hour and covering a football field in less than a second. The grand prize Gold Cup private hospitality tent for 25 provides spectacular views of the racing action, a fully catered luncheon during Sunday's program, as well as pit passes and parking passes valid for the entire weekend event.
