DETROIT, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- MotorCities National Heritage Area (MotorCities) announced today that it has launched its official website for registration of "VIP Cruisers" for the 2008 Woodward Dream Cruise.
The site, www.motorcities.org, will allow visitors to register for VIP packages including special access passes to select automotive activities throughout the greater Detroit area in August, a "limited edition" Woodward Dream Cruise commemorative plaque and discounts and benefits worth more than $100. The packages are available for $25. A limited edition of just 12,500 will be issued.
"This new commemorative is poised to be a cherished collector's item, and importantly, will help support the Cruise," said Dale Dawkins, President of the WDC, Inc. which operates the Woodward Dream Cruise. "The VIP Cruiser program will also serve to foster an even greater appreciation of our region's automotive heritage."
Proceeds from the sale of the plaques will be used to help fund the costs of running the Woodward Dream Cruise in each of the nine host communities along the Cruise route -- Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge, Berkley, Huntington Woods, Royal Oak, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Bloomfield Hills and Pontiac.
Cruisers must register online and can do so at the MotorCities website www.motorcities.org or at www.woodwarddreamcruise.com.
