NEW ALBANY, Ohio, July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. today announced that Mervin Dunn, President and CEO, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year(R) 2008 Award in the turnaround category for the South Central Ohio and Kentucky region. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Dunn was selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at The Duke Energy Center, Cincinnati on June 26, 2008.
When Dunn assumed control of the Company in 2001, it was in financial distress. He quickly set a strategy that diversified the Company's customer base, expanded its geographic footprint and provided support for new and innovative products. Through a series of acquisitions, the Company has grown to have 38 locations in eight countries. In 2004, CVG became a publicly traded company and achieved 2007 revenues of $697 million, up from $271 million in 2001.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year awards celebrate their 22nd anniversary this year. The program honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.
