Memphis, TN (Sports Network) - Rookie Justin Allgaier will start on the pole
for Saturday's Kroger On Track For The Cure 250 after topping the qualifying
charts at Memphis Motorsports Park.
Allgaier lapped the 0.75-mile oval at 118.100 m.p.h. in his No.12 Penske
Racing Dodge for his first career Nationwide pole. It came in his 36th start.
Scott Wimmer will start alongside Allgaier on the front row after posting a
lap at 117.739 m.p.h.
Richard Boswell qualified third in the No.5 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, while
Matt DiBenedetto took the fourth spot in the No.20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.
Boswell and DiBenedetto are making their Nationwide debuts this weekend.
Kenny Wallace completed the top-five.
Mike Bliss will start sixth, followed by Brad Keselowski, Willie Allen, Mark
Day and Mike Wallace.
Casey Atwood qualified Kyle Busch's No.18 JGR Toyota in the 11th position, and
Auggie Vidovich drove Carl Edwards' No.60 Roush Fenway Racing Ford to a 35th
starting spot. Busch holds a 195-point lead over Edwards with four races
remaining in the season. Both drivers were en route from Martinsville Speedway
during qualifying.
Johnny Chapman, Todd Kluever, Kevin Lepage, Nick Joanides, Mark Green, Jarit
Johnson and Brad Teague failed to qualify.
Today's 250-lap is scheduled to begin around 3:30 p.m. (et).
