Johnson edges Gordon for win at Martinsville
Martinsville, VA (Sports Network) - Jimmie Johnson refused to budge from the bottom of the track and no matter how much Jeff Gordon pushed he didn't give way before winning Sunday's Goody's Cool Orange 500 Nextel Cup race at the Martinsville Speedway. The No.48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet took the checkered flag 0.066 seconds ahead of Gordon.
Earnhardt Jr. completed the top-five.

"We had a great car, it just wasn't as good after the rain," said Earnhardt Jr.

Gordon (966) retains the points lead, 28 ahead of Jeff Burton (938), who finished sixth. Johnson (906) is third overall, 60 points behind Gordon.

After a week off, the series will resume at the Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 15th.
