What's New

The 2013 Dodge Dart has yet to hit dealership showrooms and is all-new for the 2012 model year. Expected to go on sale later this year Dodge's latest compact comes to Chicago outfitted in the latest Mopar equipment that promises to set itself apart from the competition. Dodge's custom parts wing Mopar is backing up Dodge's new compact vehicle with more than 150 parts available for the Dart. Some are on display on the GTS 210 Tribute concept, giving the Dart a touch of racing flair. Dressed in two performance packages the 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute focuses on paying homage to the high-performance GTS's of the past with the help of a boost to aerodynamics, technology, and safety.

Who's It For

Those unfamiliar with Mopar, Dodge's custom parts branch, won't be lining up to purchase a Dart outfitted in the GTS 210 Tribute dressings. This concept has the auto-enthusiast squarely in its crosshairs, with features such as a lightweight carbon-fiber hood with a large air scoop and 18-inch 10-spoke forged alloy titanium-colored wheels. The GTS was known back in the day as a high performance sibling of the Dart and Dodge is hoping to continue that persona with this modern-day version. The "210" in this concept's name stands for the 2.4-liter Multi-Air engine's horsepower courtesy of some tweaks made to the concept's inner-workings.

Key Features

The 2013 Dodge Dart received a very warm welcome when it was officially unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit last month. The Detroit-based auto maker is hoping to receive the same amount of positive criticism with the 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute concept in Chicago. Some key features on the Dart GTS 210 Tribute concept include:

  • A lightweight carbon-fiber hood and a large air scoop. A Mopar accessory that gives the Dart flashy racing touches while reducing the vehicle's weight.
  • Improved air-flow and air-intake so the Dart GTS210 Tribute concept can get all 210 horses to the pavement.
  • Alternate interior trim and accent when compared to the regular Dart. Piano Black trim covers the shifter bezel, cup holder bezel and dash vent bezel.
  • Mopar offers more than 150 accessories for both the Dart and the Dart GTS 210 Tribute concept but the latter already comes dressed with a carbon-fiber hood, a lower chin spoiler, rear spoiler, and a rear-diffuser panel.

What We Think

The 2013 Dodge Dart is one of the most highly anticipated vehicles to come out of Chrysler's Auburn Hills headquarters in recent years, and the GTS 210 Tribute concept only raises those expectations. The compact vehicle segment is filled with vehicles that have become a staple on today's roads with gas prices continuing to be unstable. Like its unaccessorized siblings, the 2013 Dodge Dart GTS 210 Tribute concept offers an affordable alternative to buying aftermarket parts and having them installed elsewhere. Dodge and Mopar offer up vehicles like the Dart GTS 210 Tribute that are already dressed in racing accents that can be seen both inside and out. As we wait for the initial launch of the 2013 Dodge Dart you can bet we're adding the GTS 210 Tribute concept to the list of vehicles we want to drive. Stay tuned for a full write-up on the 2013 Dodge Dart in the coming months.
