What's New
Toyota is dusting off its off-road packages for the new model year, and will be showing off the all-new TRD Pro Series that will be available on the Toyota Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner 4X4 models. The automaker builds upon its successful off-road race heritage for the new TRD Pro Series. The new TRD Pro Series features TRD Bilstein shocks with remote reservoirs, TRD-tuned front springs, unique grille, black wheels, along with TRD floor mats, shift knobs, and front skid plate. To up the ante, Toyota will also add a new exterior color, Inferno, to the TRD Pro Series-equipped models.
Who It's For
Extreme off-road enthusiasts will enjoy what the new TRD Pro Series package has to offer. This is Toyota's most advanced off-road package, enabling owners to push their vehicles to the limit. The automaker developed the package to speak of the heritage of Toyota's off-road racing victories at the Baja 500 and 1000 endurance races. Those who take home one of the TRD Pro Series trucks will be able to navigate the desert as well as other rough terrains with ease.
Key Features
Toyota has been developing the new TRD Pro Series off-road package for a while now, and here are its top features:
TRD Bilstein high-performance shocks
Unique TRD-tuned front springs specific to each model
Custom exterior badging
What We Think
Although Toyota has been in the off-road game for quite some time, the TRD is a niche product suited for true off-roaders. While the Tundra, Tacoma, and 4Runner may be just as capable when equipped with the right packages, there are bigger names in off-road circles like Jeep and Land Rover. However, with the development of the new TRD Pro Series, Toyota has re-entered the game, and shows its off-road racing heritage. We expect Toyota fans to enjoy what the new package has to offer when it becomes available later this year.
