What's New

The 2014 Audi RS 7 is the ultimate performance edition of Audi's new looker. The S7 debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, and already built upon the A7's great performance capabilities. If that wasn't enough, the RS 7 has arrived, and it's holding nothing back. As we speculated before, the Audi RS 7 will receive a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, and produces a blistering 560 horsepower. The standard top-speed is 155 mph, but optional packages can take it up to nearly 190 mph, and the ultimate 7 can hit 60 mph from rest in a hair under 3.9 seconds. Following Audi's efficiency strategy, the automaker's newest rocket gets an estimated 24 mpg combined, thanks to several measures, including cylinder-deactivation and standard start-stop engine shut-off. Essentially, the RS 7 can be relatively efficient, but when called upon, the performance is at the ready. Per usual, RS badges will be omnipresent on everything from the seats and steering wheel to the floor mats, and special colors and premium fabrics and materials will bathe the interior.

Who It's For

With an optional top speed just shy of 190 mph, and 560 horses on every 2014 RS 7, make no mistake, this is an enthusiast's rocket. Accentuating the A7 and S7 aesthetic, the RS 7 features new colors and special design details. And like many high-performance luxury and sports cars, this one's also about bragging rights. The 2014 Audi RS 7 will receive stiff competition from its German rivals; the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG, and BMW M Gran Coupe 6 Series, both of which offer enhanced performance prowess over more pedestrian versions.
