When the all-new Porsche 911 made its debut, it was just a matter of time before the Porsche Boxster convertible also would get the nip-and-tuck treatment and share similar body dimensions and, of course, big brother's lighter and more fuel-efficient 2.7-liter and 3.4-liter flat six cylinder engines. The result is the third generation Boxster, and possibly the first one that's a genuinely attractive car to look at.

Who It's For

The 2013 Porsche Boxster continues to appeal to those whom a fixed hardtop is not only impractical, but gets in the way for that need for speed with the wind in one's hair (or scalp) as the Boxster carves the twisty roads ahead or zips from a dead stop in less than six seconds. Sports carmakers and aficionados use the Boxster as the standard which other true sports car convertibles are measured just as the Porsche 911 is used by other sports cars.

Since the Porsche Boxster is the yardstick by which others are measured, Porsche has included much more than just styling changes on its car.

Body styling base on the Porsche 911, which means the Boxster grew slightly wider and boasts more interior spacing.
Both the "base" Porsche Boxster and Boxster S have lost weight despite their new size, and are 15 percent more fuel efficient.
