What's New
It's a Fiat 500 Abarth, like the one from last year, but this year it doesn't have a roof. Well, it does, but it's a Cabriolet, which in a language other than English means "sexy." So, you'll end up paying more for what is really a little less car, but that's a good thing. Aside from the roofline, it's pretty much carryover, and that's OK to us.
Who It's For
The 2013 Fiat 500c Abarth is for the performance-minded metropolitan. We think. Actually, it's a car we believe that appeals to both men and women equally. Enthusiasts will love the screaming warble of the Abarth's turbocharged engine, and consumers will love the fuel economy, the unique styling, and the price. Although it can seat four, it's probably not a great family car.
Key Features
The Fiat 500c Abarth is a regular Abarth, which we like, but with no roof. Kind of. It's a cabriolet. That's cooler than it sounds because it sounds GREAT. Open air top means listening to the engine more, plus: • 160 turbocharged horsepower • Purchase includes Abarth Driving Experience school
What We Think
We weren't very fond of the standard Fiat 500's steering or its transmission. But we were enthusiastic about driving the Fiat 500 Abarth, which was exciting and as visceral as a small car could be. With that said, the Cabriolet takes some getting used to in person, but the drive probably won't.
