What's New

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition, as its name suggests, is the last chance for enthusiasts to drive and own the first sports car developed wholly by AMG. Limited to just 350 models, the SLS AMG GT Final Edition will go on sale in Spring of 2014. Powered by a robust 6.3-liter V-8 engine, the SLS AMG GT is capable of a commanding 583 hp. Power is delivered by a seven-speed AMG dual clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Tobias Moers, head of AMG, said the Final Edition has been further aerodynamically optimized, and offers buyers optional Cup tires. Raised on a steady diet of carbon fiber, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition is also expected to have the lowest coefficient of drag of any SLS model yet. Blistering performance pushes the SLS AMG GT to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 197 mph. On the inside, enthusiasts will delight in Designo diamond-stitched patterned leather, and the usual complement of AMG-unique badges and trim.

Who It's For

Exclusive, performance and style-oriented luxury doesn't come cheap. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition will start north of $200,000, and this rare, gull-winged model will be limited to only 350 cars. Enthusiasts, Mercedes-Benz aficionados, and collectors will all be in the bidding for these numbered sports cars. Flush with performance and style, the SLS AMG GT Final Edition will compete with several supercars, ranging from the Audi R8 V10 Plus, to offerings from Aston Martin and Ferrari. While exceptionally well-equipped, buyers can opt for a few optional features, such as the extended interior carbon fiber package.

What We Think

The SLS AMG was the first supercar ever exclusively developed by AMG, and the 2015 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be enthusiasts last chance to own one of the iconic models. Offering supercar performance with its 6.3-liter 583 hp V-8 engine paired to a seven-speed AMG dual clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters, the 2015 SLS AMG GT Final Edition can run with the best of them. The SLS AMG's unique gull-wing doors have become iconic, and with only 350 models being produced, we expect enthusiasts and aficionados--those who can afford its $200,000-plus price tag--will be quick in placing their orders on this one.
