Seeking to create a vision for an Acura luxury sedan of a dozen years hence, Acura's Southern California-based design team sees a future that is...angry. The scowling-faced Advanced Sedan Concept (catchy name, guys) has the distinctly sinister air of a twenty-first-century, four-door Batmobile. Mechanical details were scarce--and probably irrelevant--but the car does roll on 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels and it features a glass roof. John Mendel, Honda/Acura senior vice president auto operations, called the car "the ultramodern flagship of the future." Designer Dave Marek was more blunt: "Actually, we just wanted to build the baddest, biggest, meanest luxury sedan we could." We say they succeeded. But we also think they could use someProzac.
