The Chrysler 300C, Automobile Magazine's 2005 Automobile of the Year, has been made even more irresistible with the addition of more power. With 425 horsepower on tap, the 300C SRT-8 has the most powerful V-8 ever offered by the Chrysler Group. Chrysler's Street and Racing Technology (SRT) has bored the 5.7-liter V-8 found on the standard 300C to 6.1 liters. Intake and exhaust have also been tinkered with and the compression ratio increased, yielding 25 percent more power. To handle the power, Goodyear F1 tires are wrapped around the massive 20-inch aluminum wheels hiding Brembo brakes. The SRT-8 also boasts subtle cues to set it off from the standard 300C, with a small ducktail spoiler and more aggressive front and rear fascias. We've driven the SRT-8 on real roads, and despite the stiffened springs and dampers, it soaks up imperfect roads with ease. On the track, there's enough power to scare us. Get one while you still can.
