2007 Frankfurt Motor Show: Top 10 Cars We Can't Get in the U.S.

When scouring the 2007 Frankfurt motor show in search of the top-10 vehicles America won't be getting -- at least initially -- it quickly dawned on me that the U.S. generally gets the best of the best. After all, I figured I'd be able to add at least a handful of exotics to the list, only to realize we Yanks get just about every high-end Italian, British, and German sports car out there. The Ferrari 430 Scuderia? Yep, coming stateside. The Lambo Reventon, even with a production run of only 20 units? Seeing that the U.S. is Lamborghini's biggest market, not to mention that at least one celebrity in L.A. or Miami has connections, what do you think? The Aston DBS? Of course. Every hot Porsche? In the U.S. or on a boat headed to the U.S. The Audi R8? Oh, yeah, I already drove that magical mid-engine machine up and down the West Coast.

So what's left?

Well, seeing that we're in Europe -- home of the small car, the diesel, and the wagon -- that leaves us, well, a host of hot hatches, oil-burners, and touring machines. Are they cool? Very. Not only would we love to see them in America-certainly if the brand isn't sold in the U.S.-we wouldn't hesitate to have them replace existing models that clog U.S. streets with a lack of pizzazz, efficiency, and style. Without further ado, our top 10.
