At first glance, you'd think Volkswagen's done nothing more than a nip/tuck to its redesigned 2007 Volkswagen Touareg luxury ute. You'd be wrong. Among the exterior changes (VW boasts there are 2,300 in all) to the 2007 Touareg are a new grill, hood and bumper up front, plus new headlights and mirrors. At the rear, the lights, spoiler, bumper and exhaust outlets have also been modified. Underhood, the 3.6-liter V-6 out of the Passat is the standard Touareg powertrain, while a direct-fuel-injection V-8 packing 350-hp and the stump-pulling V10 diesel are on the option list.

Touareg also gets a boatload of new technology features, including something called ABSplus, which improves breaking on soft surfaces, along with Brembo brakes and an upgraded ESP program. The ute also gets adaptive cruise control, front and side scanning features that can help slow the car to a stop in emergency situations and aid with blind spots. The entertainment options have also been upgraded. Touareg hits the streets in November.
