While Lincoln has been on-again, off-again as to whether it will continue selling the Town Car, Cadillac is announcing two new DTS models here at Los Angeles. The DTS Platinum won't be on sale until August, but the DTS-L will be available in early 2007 with eight extra inches of cabin space, extending the sedan's overall length to 215.6 inches. The additional space allows the rear seat to move back so that the C-pillars block can hide passengers from the paparazzi outside. Cadillac calls it "VIP privacy," and it throws us back to when we chilled in the rear seat of our grandparents' beastly Caddys of the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Cadillac says that the DTS-L beats its competitors' L versions--the Town Car and the new Lexus LS460L--in terms of rear-seat space.
