Toyota's Auris Space Concept provides an early look at the next-generation Corolla hatchback for the European market. Designed in Nice, France, the Auris is described by the company's European president as "a concrete representation of the next Toyota C-segment hatchback." Not only is the styling and accurate preview of the upcoming production model, but the name is too. Although Toyota again will use the long-lived Corolla nameplate for most versions of the new car, the four-door hatchback will take the name Auris, which is derived from the Latin "aurum," which means "gold."
