It's not uncommon for a top-of-the-line supercar to be based on another vehicle from the manufacturer's stable. But when the base car is already by all definitions a supercar, well, then it's time to get excited. That's exactly what this Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 - which is already a kicked-up version of the old Murcielago - derivative is.
Little is known about Lamborghini's newest star. It will be styled after (what else?) the world's most advanced jet fighter, the F-22 Raptor. Only twenty examples will be produced with ten headed to the US, but they have all been spoken for already. The cost is, of course, astronomical. The final price will be somewhere north of $1.5 million. With the $300,000 deposit alone, you could purchase a whole garage of performance vehicles; for example a BMW M5, Audi RS4, Porsche Cayman S, Lotus Elise, and a Mini Cooper S. You can bet that Lamborghini's well-heeled customers won't be thinking about that once they get behind the wheel of their new ride, though.
