The 2006 Chevrolet Aveo debuted in Shanghai this past April, but the Frankfurt show marks the sedan's European debut. The new car, which according to GM shares only the windshield, two windows, and large sections of the body structure with the outgoing model, is a drastic improvement over the previous Aveo. Styling is clean, crisp, and, well, un-Chevy-like, although some will argue that it borrows cues from the slightly larger Cobalt. 1.2- and 1.4-liter engines are the two choices under the hood, and a surprising list of standard equipment includes air conditioning and power windows, locks and side mirrors. The Aveo will eventually be sold in over 120 countries, and while Chevrolet has not announced pricing, we would guess a base price tag around $10,000.
