The Captiva, a Europe-only small SUV, is the first diesel sport-ute Chevrolet has ever offered to the European market. It uses a 2.0-liter, 150 hp common-rail direct injection motor, although two gas engines--a 2.4-liter and a 3.2-liter--are also available. It is also the first European Chevy to feature stability control. This mini-ute is far more attractive than our Equinox, and it also offers more seating (in the more expensive 7-passenger form) than our truck. It looks especially cool riding on 17-inch wheels, which are standard with the V-6 model. If Chevrolet could make vehicles this attractive for the U.S. market, maybe GM wouldn't be losing quite as much ground to Toyota and Honda.
