You'll have to look pretty hard to notice the changes to the Mercedes-Benz SL-class. Although the front and rear clips have been changed slightly, the car's shape remains the same, which is just fine with us. The real changes are under the skin, where power outputs are up and the suspension has been reworked. The AMG crew joined in on the redesign, too, but the new 6.2-liter V-8 that is working its way through the M-B line-up will not find a home under any SL hood. Instead, a new supercharger and a larger throttle valve up the SL55 AMG's power output to 517 hp, while the SL65 goes unchanged enginewise. Both models get an all-new composite brake system, and the 65 gets a much-needed multi-disc differential lock. These all might seem like insignificant alterations to a four-year-old vehicle, but if it ain't broke, why fix it?
