The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is based on the LR3, but it's styled like a swoopier version of the flagship Range Rover. The interior is cozy, and materials are similar to the LR3's. The Sport offers a choice of Jaguar 4.2-liter V-8s, a base engine with 300 hp and a supercharged version with 390 hp. Permanent four-wheel drive, the core of Land Rover's image, is mated to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission. Performance also benefits from the Sport being about 450 pounds lighter than the lardy LR3.
