According to a Volkswagen press release, "In the front the Ragster story starts with a lower windshield lower." It doesn't make any sense to us either. And neither does the car. Other than a chopped roof and the requisite show car add-ons (a lowered suspension, sport seats, and elephantine wheels and tires), there's little to distinguish the Ragster. The Le Car-like giant retractable canvas sunroof is a little redundant when a regular sunroof and a convertible top are already available on Beetles. Production potential for this concept is virtually nil.
