The BMW 325xi Sports Wagon rolled into U.S. showrooms last fall, only a few months after its sedan siblings. As with the previous generation, only the lower-output engine is offered--there's no 330. The 325xi's 3.0-liter inline-six sends its 215 hp to all four wheels, but a rear-wheel-drive 325i Sport Wagon will be added in early 2006. Buyers have a choice of six-speed gearboxes: manual or Steptronic manu-matic. The car is a bit bigger than the previous 3-series wagon and provides greater passenger and cargo space. Additional stowage is available under the floor; standard run-flat tires have eliminated the need for a spare tire.
