2002 Paris Auto Show - Subaru Impreza

Text Size

The Subaru Impreza sedan and wagon, including the much-beloved high-performance WRX versions, will soon receive new headlights that make it look less googly-eyed and more aggressive. Or more conservative. Or more, shall we say, like a Nissan Maxima. The revised styling seen on these European versions is expected to make it to the U.S. as early as next year. Ostensibly done to provide better aerodynamics for the WRC cars, the restyle also includes a bigger hood scoop to provide better engine cooling. That doesn't say much for the new Impreza's recently redesigned mug, which only lasted a year. But kudos to Subaru for taking our one nagging complaint to heart and providing a quick facelift. Eat your heart out, Michael Jackson.
