Lexus unveiled the latest in the LF series of concepts in LA, offering another look at the upcoming rear-drive line to replace the IS sedan and sport wagon. This North American debut further solidifies the design language of the sporty line that will include a sedan, coupe, and convertible, and also shared with the larger 2006 GS sedan that goes on sale in March. The "LF" designations stands for "L-Finesse" and the results stem from a multi-year analysis of what luxury means to customers. Beyond automotive expectations, Lexus has studied the aesthetics, sensibilities, tactile, and aural elements to create what they expect to be a real threat the broad, often-benchmarked BMW 3 Series range. The V-6-powered LF cars are expected to go on sale next year as 2007 models.
