Three years after the debut of the second-generation Viper comes a sleek and sexy coupe version for 2006, mirroring the rollout strategy of the original Viper line. Dodge claims that demand for this, "uncompromising, ultimate American sports car" was present from day one of the introduction of the SRT10 convertible, and they are thrilled to give Viper die-hards just what they asked for. Adding the double-bubble roof to the convertible's already stiff structure provides exceptional rigidity, improved aerodynamics, and likely a roadster-beating top speed. Naturally, power comes from the 8.3-liter V-10 that cranks out 500 horsepower through a six-speed transmission. Dodge knows that many current Viper coupe owners like to partake in competitive racing, and therefore engineered the hardtop model to easily accommodate a roll cage yet still allow room for driver and helmet. Best of all, after a few year hiatus in the last generation Viper GTS coupe, the blue-with-white racing stripes color scheme made famous on the '90s concept car has again returned to the list of paint options.
