Volvo's SUV gets more go-power thanks to parent company Ford. Ford has struck deals with Yamaha for engines before, and one result was the high-output V6 for the old Taurus SHO. Ford asked Yamaha for that SHO engine again, this time with an extra pair of cylinders tacked on. Abracadabra – Volvo now has its first V8. It manages 311 horsepower while meeting ULEV II standards, Volvo is proud to point out. It came out as a "late 2005" priced at just over $46,000.
