2005 Ford Five Hundred rear

It either takes the place of the Taurus or the Crown Victoria, but the big Ford is big news. Breaking little new ground stylistically, it does showcase Ford's new 6-speed automatic and CVT transmissions, as well as the first application of AWD on a Ford passenger car. The Taurus' 203-horsepower V6 struggles to move the heavier Five Hundred, but there's a ton of space for five passengers. Considering that this is based on a much more expensive Volvo, it's also a ton of car for the money.
