2005 Ford Freestyle rear
It's not quite the return of the Ford Country Squire, but it's close. Ford hasn't had a wagon this big since 1991, and the one offered at the time is one best forgotten. Fast forward to today, we have a thoroughly modern, upscale "crossover" that's missing only one piece: a strong engine. That aside, the chassis, optional AWD system, and CVT transmission are all shared with the Volvo-based Five Hundred, though the Freestyle doesn't offer the choice of a traditional automatic. The most comparable vehicle would be the Chrysler Pacifica.
