2006 Mazda MX-5 Custom rear

While not Mazda's most profitable car, the MX-5 is surely the most important. The roadster that saved the company enters its third generation with a 170 horsepower from a bigger 2-liter engine, only a few more pounds, sharper styling both inside and out – changes partly made in the hopes of shedding its chick car image. It's still the cheapest rear-wheel-drive import sports car and possibly one of the most fun at any price. Mazda still seems to be sending mixed messages by only affixing "MX-5" to the trunklid and "MX-5 Miata" to the sticker. Once and for all, can we call this a Miata or not?
