The big Audi expands its horizons by offering a normal-wheelbase model and by offering a W12, bringing trim lines to three: A8, A8 L, and A8 L W12. (If it added a normal-wheelbase A8 W12, it would match BMW's 7-series lineup model for model.) These same engines are shared with Volkswagen's Phaeton, as is the basic design. But as one of the world's rare all-aluminum cars, the A8 tips the scales at much less.
